Hi, my name is Alexander Ellis, but most teachers and kids in my high school call me Alex. I am excited for this new project of making a movie that is ahead of me. However I am also nervous for how much time making this movie will take, since I have never made one before. My time is already very limited due to my four AICE classes and doing marching band after school.
My group and I have discussed the different genres that are available, but have very little ideas of what to do. We immediately decided we did not want to do horror which left drama, comedy, action, western or any other genre we could think of. We will have to talk it over more before deciding which genre to do, but currently it is looking like we may make a comedy.
After deciding on the genre, I think that deciding what to do in the movie will be the hardest task of all. Deciding what the characters will look like, how the characters will develop, what will happen in the plot, and so much more that comes with the movie making process. Once we decide on all of those things, then we have to make it interesting enough that people would want to watch it. These things that go into the process will have to be decided with my group soon or we will run out of time to finish making the movie.
The one thing that our group has decided is what roles everyone will be. I have been chosen to be the director. At first, I did not want to be the director because I felt like giving directions to others is not usually something I am good at. After seeing the other options, I thought that director would be he only one that I could do since I am not very creative at writing and someone else in my group already knows how to edit. I could do the camera, but we decided the editor will also do the camera movements since he doesn't have much to do until we actually record something. I guess I will learn to direct people on where to stand, what to say, and what to do through this movie making process.
